Resources

Deb Lang PsyD, Licensed Psychologist

When I first started this work, resources to share with clients were hard to find. Now they are much more accessible. Because of this, I decided to streamline this page to books and podcasts.

By no means is this a comprehensive list. I would suggest checking out more than one of the books or podcasts, as you will likely connect with some authors or speakers more than with others. And be sure to come back to the list while you do this work or consult other lists.

I have had clients say to me, “I hated this book,” as they returned it to me. Later, when further along on their journey, they shared with me how much they learned from, or felt supported by, the same book. You, too, may be surprised how your reactions change as you continue to work on creating peace with your body and with food.

Never Enough—Separating Self-worth from Approval

While my book, Never Enough, is not specifically devoted to body image, weight, or eating, striving to feel “good enough” is often central to our struggles in these areas. The book explores the possible origins of these tendencies, as well as a plan to separate your worth from the reactions of others while connecting with your internal wisdom and strength.
